Idaho’s Black communities celebrate Juneteenth with joy, food, dance

Celebrations are planned across the gem state, including Boise, Twin Falls, and Rexburg.

Organizers of the community expressed concern for the safety of the junior event after a group of men from the white nationalist group Patriot Front appeared in Coeur d'Alene on a proud day. Members of the Patriot Front were arrested on June 11 for plotting a riot while a group of men crowded into a U-Hall truck with a 911 caller would alert police.
